A DEEP DIVE INTO RIVER AND FISH
WHAT IS IT?
I’d like to invite you to a special online event where we take a “deep dive” into the song and video “River and Fish”. I’ll be covering:
- The background behind the lyrics (which takes us right back to the 10th Century!)
- The original purpose of the song, and its use in a lovely community project in Exeter
- The production of the song, including how I went about creating the field recordings of rivers and birds used in the song, and the way I recorded and assembled the vocal parts
- And then finally the video, a labour of love involving stop motion animation, hand embroidery, the creation of a bespoke “cranking” device and much more!
And after all that, you’ll be very welcome to ask me questions about this song or any other aspect of my work.
Additionally, I’m conscious that my music is “a bit niche” and I’d love to find out more about you, the very special people who like it! So, after the main session, I’ll be hanging around online for a bit of a general chat with anyone who’s up for it

HOW MUCH?
I have decided to charge a small amount for the Deep Dive, which will help me to fund the materials for future videos! There are 2 options:

Whichever option you choose, you will receive a Zoom link to the session, and a free MP3 version of River and Fish! I will also send everyone a link to the recording of the session after the event.
