Forget-me-not Singing Club
What is it?
The Forget-me-not Singing Club is primarily aimed at people living with dementia and their friends, but anyone else who just fancies a good sing on a Friday afternoon is also very welcome to join us!
We sing songs from a wide range of genres and eras – folk songs, pop/rock songs, songs from films and from school days. Everybody is welcome to suggest new ones to add to our repertoire.
The singing is fun and friendly and there’s no need to worry if you think you are not much of a singer, or a bit rusty – all voices are welcome!
(I am also always looking for people to help me during the sessions with things like handing out song-sheets and making tea. If you would be willing to help, please let me know!)
Date and time:
We meet at 2pm every Friday (with short breaks for holidays, which I’ll let you know about in advance). We restart after the summer break on 4th September 2026.
Location:
We meet at Brockenhurst Village Hall, Highwood Road, Brockenhurst, SO42 7RY. We are usually in the “Exhibition Room” on the first floor. There is a wheelchair accessible lift.
You can park for free in the Village Hall carpark for up to 2 hours, or longer if you leave your car registration at reception.
You can also walk to the Village Hall from the railway station in about 5 minutes. Ask me for directions if you are unsure!
Cost:
£7 per person, which includes free tea/coffee and biscuits.
Get in touch:
I’m very happy to answer any questions you might have, and it is helpful (although not crucial) to know if you are planning to come along (so I can make sure I bring enough song-sheets, and most importantly, biscuits!) Thank you!
